Chesterton Girls Hoops beats Plymouth 39 27

The Chesterton girls basketball team picked up a 39-27 non-conference victory over Plymouth on Wednesday night.

The Trojans led 17-5 after one period and 24-14 at the half. Plymouth pulled within two in the fourth quarter before Chesterton knocked down 7-of-8 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Emma Schmidt led CHS with 15 points, while Nalani Malackowski added 12 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Chesterton were Carley Balas (4 points), Emma Pape (3 points), Liz Pokorney (2 points), Lauren Davis (2 points) and Madison Davis (1 point).

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 45, New Prairie 22

The Chesterton junior varsity built a 17-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 45-22 victory over New Prairie on Wednesday.

Kristina Kokot and Mannat Singh led the Trojans with seven points each, while Bridget Raffin, Ciara Bonner and Delaney King all added six points.

Rounding out the scoring were Giana Raffin (4 points), Chloe Wisniewski (3 points), Amani Brown (2 points) and Abi Drew (2 points).
