Dorothy “Ann” (Overend)
Ahlefelder, age 82, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Friday, January 24,
2020.
She was born on
July 13, 1937 in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Madeline (Doherty) Overend.
She is survived by
her children, Laura (William) Lockie, Steven (Jayne) Leinweber and David
(Jeannie) Leinweber, her grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Lockie, Megan
(Sean) Hosek, Andrew Lockie (Geremy Whalen), Ashley (Justin) Nooner, Greg
(Rachael) Leinweber, Kyle (Jamie) Boren, Madeline Leinweber and Mack
Leinweber, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; husbands, Allen Leinweber and Herbert Ahlefelder;
sister, Alice Brobst and brother, Joseph Overend.
Ann retired from a
property management company in Boca Raton, FL, where she worked as a
receptionist. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chesterton
and actively participated with the Table of Plenty and the Women's Guild.
She was also a member of the Duneland Seniors.
A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton, IN.
Final resting place
will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Chesterton, IN.
