David Bruce Hodge passes away at age 78

David Bruce Hodge, 78, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 3, 2020. David was at home surrounded by family.

David was born on August 28, 1942, in Gary, Indiana, to Wilber and Mary (McCasland) Hodge.

Dave is survived by his wife of 38 years and best friend, Cheryl Hodge, and their 11 children, 25 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; sons, Michael (Jessica) Hodge, Matthew (Rosa) Hodge, Aaron (Michelle) Hodge, and David Hodge; daughters, Kathryn (Joshua) Weldy, Kimberly (Joe) Arent, Michelle (Jerome) Pittman, Teresa (Ale) Hodge, Kimberly (Ed) Ferrier, Cheryl (Bill) Gallo and Rebecca Hodge; siblings, Tom (Di) Hodge, Kathleen (Mike) Kelly, John (Maude) Hodge, Debbie (Greg) Rukes, Jackie (Rodney) Smithey and Charles (Linda) Hodge; sisters-in-law, Cindy Hodge and Dana Hodge; brother-in-law, Terry Comstock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Stephen Hodge, Charolette (Larry) Steele, James Hodge and Margaret Comstock and granddaughter, Grace Ann Gallo.

Dave will be fondly remembered for his love of family, his love for God, his sense of humor, his smile and blue eyes that would light up any room, his willingness to help others in need, his love of trees, nature and the outdoors, and simply living a fulfilling life.

Dave was the owner of Dave Hodge Tree Service and was known throughout the area for his quality work and dependable service.

Due to current state regulations, the family will hold private services for David Hodge Wednesday, December 9, at Edmonds & Evans in Chesterton, IN.
