Douglas Scott
Coslet, age 33, a star too bright to shine forever, passed away on Sunday,
April 28, 2019.
He was born on
December 25, 1985, in Valparaiso, IN.
He is preceded in
death by his beautiful mother Helen Stacy Coslet and his grandparents.
He is survived by
his loving father Scott, sister Holly, partner, Jessica Deiotte, and an
immeasurable number of relatives and friends.
Douglas had a true
passion for adventure and an enormous heart. Douglas adored his friends and
family, making music and art, and collecting vintage cymbals to curate
several perfect drum sets. He also loved riding and restoring motorcycles,
wrenching in the garage with his dad, racing BMX, swimming and skim boarding
at the beach. As a lover of nature Douglas could often be found scouring the
beach for fossils, mushroom hunting, or taking on an outdoor project. He was
a beautiful soul who would go out of his way to help anyone in need and had
a way of genuinely connecting with people of all walks of life. Those who
were fortunate to know Douglas and call him a friend or family know how
special and supportive he was. Never afraid to offer up a hug, words of
encouragement with the perfect balance of head and heart. Our world was so
much brighter with Douglas’ presence, but we will carry him on in our
hearts, where he’s bound to have the same effect.
The family will
receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., at
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. There will be a
private burial at Chesterton Cemetery.
