Marie "Mimi" Louise
(Radtke) Eddy, 59, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on September 21,
2017 after a long illness.
Mimi was born in
Michigan City, Indiana, to Herbert and Jane Radtke.
She grew up in
Chesterton, IN, and graduated from Chesterton High School. She received her
B.A. in textiles from Colorado State University. Mimi worked in the family
business, Pioneer Lumber, as an accountant, where she met the love of her
life, Michael Eddy. The couple wed in Hawaii on June 25, 1994. In 2002,
after spending years with Reno Air and American Airlines as a customer
service representative, she moved from Nevada to Florida. In Florida, she
was an active volunteer at John Leggio's Center for the Performing Arts,
where she helped with costuming and sets for various productions alongside
her daughter, Vivian. Mimi was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary, Our
Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Masaryktown, FL. One of her greatest joys
was traveling; some of her favorite places were Ocean City, Maryland; Vero
Beach, FL; and Walt Disney's Old Key West Resort. Mimi was a people person
with a great personality. Most of all, Mimi will be remembered as being a
dedicated mother.
She leaves behind
her beloved husband of 23 years, Michael “Mike” Eddy; daughter, Vivian M.
Eddy; brothers, Daniel M. (Judy) Radtke, Stephen J. (Sandy) Radtke, and
Nicholas A. Radtke; sisters, Karla M. (Dave) Dickey, Teresa J. Schmid, M.
Camille (Michael) Simpson, and Ann L. (Mark) Fross; and many nieces and
nephews.
A gathering will be
held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, at Turner Funeral Home
in Spring Hill, FL, and a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
A Celebration of
Life will be held in Chesterton, IN, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made in Mimi's honor to National Alliance for Mental
Illness (NAMI).
