Paul E. Payton, age
48 of Porter, passed away on July 21, 2017.
He was born on
August 12, 1968, in Los Angeles, CA, to Joseph Lee Payton, who survives in
Louisiana, and Donna (Hess) Payton, who preceded him in death.
On March 30, 1991,
he married Darlene Steinbeck Payton, who survives in Porter. He is also
survived by his children: Paul Michael (Adriana) Payton Jr. of Columbus, OH,
Shelby (Rick) Brown of Zion, IL, Joseph Payton of Porter, Catherine Payton
of Hunt Valley, MD, and Lydia Payton of Porter, IN; his sisters, Angel
Payton of Georgia, and Vickie Lucas of Louisiana; his grandchild, William
Richard Brown; his special aunt, Peggy Brammer; along with many other
relatives.
He is also preceded
in death by his brother, Joseph Payton and his step-mother Joann Payton.
Paul was a very
active member of Fairhaven Baptist Church. He also ministered in the prisons
for many years, was a Sunday School teacher for fifteen years, and was also
a truck stop Chaplin for fifteen years. He also held services at the local
nursing homes. Photography was his passion, and he took beautiful
photographs for his church for seven years. Paul proudly served his country
in the United States Air Force. He loved taking walks and
especially enjoyed taking cruises to Israel and the Mediterranean. He was
CEO and President of the Clean Internet Company and his photography company,
Focal Splash.
Funeral services
will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at Fairhaven Baptist
Church, 86 E Oak Hill Rd., Chesterton, IN 46304, with Pastor Steve Damron
officiating.
Arrangements are
under the care of White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton.
