Celebration of Life Saturday for Mildred Jean Peterson, 90

Mildred Jean Peterson, died Tuesday, April 18, at the age of 90 at Symphony of Chesterton.

A lifelong resident of Porter County, Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, parents, Mabel and Albert Feiffer, her brother Theodore and half sister Suzanne Krachinski.

Mildred graduated from Chesterton High School, Class of 1945, where she played clarinet in the band and made many lifelong friends. After working in sales in Chicago, she met the love of her life, Paul, and married on June 6, 1953. They were married for 54 years. Together they had four children.

She is survived by daughters, Paula Graff (Dale) of Raleigh, NC, Barbara Hines (Robert) of Rolling Prairie, sons, John (Georgia) of Franklin, Kenneth (Natalie) of Rensselaer; grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Shawn, Samuel, Vanessa, Jeremy, and Jessie; great-grandchildren; brothers, Lee Parrott and Johnny Parrott of Michigan City; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Millie loved music. She played piano and accordion and especially loved the music from the 40's. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and planning parties and family gatherings.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 4 p.m., at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home prior to the service from 1-4 p.m.
