Daniel “Dan” Dyson,
age 93 of Chesterton, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Porter
Regional Hospital in Valparaiso.
He was born on
November 18, 1923, in Port Talbot, Wales, to Thomas and Kathleen Dyson, both
of whom preceded him in death.
On April 13, 1989,
he married Marilyn Dyson, who survives in Chesterton.
Dan proudly served
his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He is survived by
his children: Daniel (Connie) Dyson of Novi, MI, Bruce (Myra) Dyson of Davie
Florida, Jane Dyson of Watertown, MA, and Diane Dyson of Scituate, MA; his
six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his sister, Marian Waite of
Australia. He is also survived by his wife’s children: Katherine (Jeff)
Vaughn of Martins Ferry, OH, Deborah (Michael) Baker of Honeoye, NY, and
Elisabeth (Jose) Robles of Williamsburg, VA, and by his wife’s eight
grandchildren.
Dan is preceded in
death by his son, Michael Dyson and by his brother, Thomas Dyson.
Funeral services
will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 2 p.m., at White-Love Funeral
Home, 525 South Second Street, Chesterton, IN, with Father James Meade
officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of
service at the funeral home.
