Private Services for Devera T. Wesley, 92

Devera T. Wesley, age 92 of Valparaiso, passed away on February 12, 2016, at St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born on June 21, 1923 in Three Oaks, MI, to Howard and Maude Lee, both of whom preceded her in death.

On August 28, 1948, she married Joseph Wesley, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Devera is survived by her sons: Leonard (Mary) Wesley of Indianapolis, Larry Wesley of Porter, Terry (Melanie) Wesley of Tennessee, and Joseph (Connie) Wesley of Washington; her six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and her brothers, Edwin (Pat) Lee of Michigan and Harold Lee of Lafayette.

She is also preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.

When Devera was four years old, she traveled with her family from Three Oaks, MI, to Crocker.

She was a member of the Crocker Bible Baptist Church for many years, where she was a respected elder. She supported an “adopted” group of soldiers in Afghanistan, having sent them numerous letters and gifts over the years.

A private family burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Memorial donations may be given to Crocker Bible Baptist Church, 275 W 1050 N, Chesterton, IN, 46304.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton.
