Memorial Service Tuesday for Manuel 'Moose' Orlich

Manuel G. Orlich “Moose”, age 77, of Michie, TN, formerly of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.

He was born on February 27, 1938 to John George Orlich and Helen Stephanie Kutchen Orlich, both of whom preceded him in death.

Moose is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Orlich of Michie, TN; his son, Mike (Julie) Orlich of Chesterton; his daughter, Regina Orlich of Oakland, TN, and his brother, Daniel Orlich of Lake Station. Also surviving are his three grandchildren: Betsy and husband Kyle, Brandon and wife Megan and Manny; his four great-grandchildren: Andrew, Jonathan, Lane and Brady, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Moose worked as a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel for thirty-two years. He was of the Lutheran faith. In his earlier years, he also worked part-time at Porter Police Department and was also a member of the Westchester Auxiliary Police.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, from 4 until 6 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, with a memorial service following at 6 p.m. with Pastor Erik Bernth officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Lion’s Club Sight Project, Lions Clubs International Foundation, 300 W. 22nd St., Oak Brook, IL, 60523-8842.
