Dolores Voss services Saturday

Dolores R. Voss, age 81, of Michigan City, Ind., passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 8:45 p.m. at the Waters of Duneland, Chesterton, Ind.

She was born April 27, 1931 in South Bend, Ind., to the late Julius and Aletha (Helmlinger) Szalay.

On June 30, 1956 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Bend, Ind., she married James H. Voss, who preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.

Surviving are four daughters, Mary (Bob) Keleher of Carmel, Ind., Leanne Voss of Michigan City, Ind., Dolores "Dj" (Steve) Laughrey of Valparaiso, Ind., and Carol Voss of Portage, Mich.; son, James (Cheryl) Voss of Wanatah, Ind.; two grandchildren, Grant Michael Laughrey and Chase Steven Laughrey, both of Valparaiso, Ind.; sister, Loretta (Tom) Schafer of South Bend, Ind.; and brother, James (Karin) Szalay of Georgia.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and retired from Royal Hawaiian Jewelry Gift Store as a jewelry buyer. Dolores was Past President of the town of Pines board from 1988-1999. She enjoyed her crafts, especially her pine cone fall creations which she sold through Seasons, a business she started and owned.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Ind. with the Rev. Walter Rakoczy officiating. Cremation will follow services and ashes interred privately in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
