Monita P. Williams, age 90 of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June
2, 2013.
She was born June 24, 1922 in Fulton County, Kentucky to Milos Pugh and
Katherine Griffey.
She is survived by sons, Bill (Anna) Scott of Porter, Ind., Thomas (Thelma)
Scott of Chesterton, Ind., and Jerry (Loretta) Scott of Chesterton, Ind.;
daughters, Margaret (Jerry) Troke of Chesterton, Ind., Katie (Ed) Gardner of
Valparaiso, Ind., and step daughter, Hazel Castleman of Hickman, Ky.; 87
grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph “Jake” Williams;
daughter, Sally Brown; two brothers, four sisters, and six grandchildren,
Michael Scott, John “Jack” Leath, Jonathan Leath, J.D. Luck, Joanne Loftin
and Jason Scott.
Monita was a homemaker who loved spending time with her children and
grandchildren. She also enjoyed her time at Kmart as a greeter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., 46304.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, at the funeral home from 4:00
until 8:00 p.m.
