Former Chesterton resident Lois May Crawford, 87, of Westminster, Maryland.,
died May 13, 2013 at Glade Valley Center in Walkersville.
Born September 10,1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles and F.
Ellen Smith Hageman.
She was the wife of the late John Frederick Crawford, whom she married June
25, 1949 and who preceded her on March 31, 2007.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Pamela and William Collier of
Centreville, Va.; son John Crawford of Westminster, Md.; son and
daughter-in-law, Craig and Kathryn Crawford of Myersville; grandsons William
and John Collier; granddaughters Cara Keller, Alayna Crawford, Lauren
Crawford Williamson and Leslie Crawford; great-granddaughters Zoe Keller and
Lainey Crawford and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was precede by brothers Charles Howard and Henry Milford Hageman.
She was a graduate of Chesterton High School. She received a Bachelor's of
Science degree from Ball State University and a Master's of Education from
Western Maryland College. She taught for 32 years in Mishawaka and
Chesterton, Ind., New Holland, Penn., and Carroll County Public Schools. She
was an adjunct professor at Western Maryland College.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Women's Club of Westminster,
William Winchester Chapter of the D.A.R., Delta Kappa Gamma, The Torch Club
and the Carroll County Retired Teacher's Association.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, from 11 a.m. until time
of service at 1 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd.,
Westminster, Md. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery.
