Frank Wickberg, age 96, of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Wednesday, October
16, 2013 at his home.
He was born August 25, 1917, in Gary, Ind. to Frank and Anne (Loftus)
Wickberg.
Frank was married on June 28, 1941, in Gary, Ind., to Francis (Goodwill)
Wickberg.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Wickberg of Chesterton, Ind.; sons,
Dennis Wickberg of Crown Point, Ind. and Robert Wickberg of Westville, Ind.;
grandchildren, Lorri Wickberg of Chesterton, Ind., and Michael Wickberg of
Tennessee; great-grandson, Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Francis; brothers Harry
Wickberg and Raymond Wickberg; sisters Leona Brooks and Fern Stewart;
daughter-in-law, Martha Wickberg and great-granddaughter Morgan.
Frank graduated from Emerson High School in 1936 and was a member of Club
Deb/Club 30 of Emerson Alumni. He was also a member of the American Legion
Post #279. Frank worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years. He retired
from Ironworkers Local #395. Frank was a Navy veteran and served during
WWII.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor
Thelma Megill-Cobbler officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the
funeral home.
