Carl N. Freeze, age 70 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Sunday, November 10,
2013, at his home.
He was born February 20, 1943, in Marshall, Ill.,to Carl and Emma (Neal)
Freeze, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was married on October 20, 1979, in Nashville, Ind., to Judy Garrett.
Carl is survived by his wife, Judy; sons Darren and Guy Dickey of Marion,
Ky., and David (Amy) Little of Bloomington, Ind.; daughters Becky Freeze of
Blackstone, Va., and Mandy Rickard of Chesterton, Ind.; brother Joseph
(Barbara) Freeze of Farmersburg, Ind., grandchildren Daniel, Levi, Aaron,
Tyler, Jacob, Bradley and Crystal Dickey, Jordan Kiner, Aidan and Emily
Little; great-granddaughter Nataline Dickey and several nieces and nephews
and God Son, Michael Clemens.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brandi Dickey.
Carl graduated from Garfield High School in Terre Haute, Ind., class of 1961
and furthered his education at Indiana State University. He was a Supervisor
at Ameritech and retired in 1992. He was a Chesterton resident for 35 years,
he was Second Vice President of S.A.L. American Legion Squadron 170,
Chesterton Moose Lodge #1623 and a member of the Porter United Methodist
Church. Carl enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Escapees R.V. Club.
A Memorial Service for Carl will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at 6:00
p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with
Rev. G. Thomas Jones officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 4:00 p.m. until
the time of service at 6:00 p.m. Cremation is being handled by Heritage
Crematory, Portage, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Porter United
Methodist Church, 100 E. Beam St, Porter, IN, 46304, or American Legion Post
170, 798 Wabash Ave., Chesterton, IN, 46304.
