Viola Riley Hall dies at age 100

Viola I. Riley Hall, age 100, of Greensboro, Georgia, formerly of Chesterton, died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at her residence.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on June 8, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William Riley and Cora Hyde Riley. She was a graduate of Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana, where she lived for most of her life.

Along with her husband she was the owner and operator of a Laundry and Dry Cleaning business that they ran for thirty-five years and retired from in 1995. In 2007 they sold the business and moved to Osteen, Florida. From Osteen they moved to Del Webb in Greensboro, Ga., in November of 2009.

She married Thomas C. Hall on January 27, 1967 and they had been married for forty-five years. Viola was a member of New Life Wesleyan Church in Chesterton, IN and attended the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro, Ga.

In addition to her husband, Thomas C. Hall of Greensboro, Ga., she is survived by a daughter, Deanna Meese Bingham and husband William of Greensboro, Ga.; two grandsons, Edward Bingham and Rodney Bingham and wife Maritza; two great granddaughters, Ashlee Bingham and Lela Bingham; several nieces and nephews, including Mary and Wayne Riley, Norma Riley, Lester and Leanna Borg; many cousins; and many dear friends in Del Webb and Indiana. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Meese; and brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Beatrice Riley.

Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro South Campus, 4741 Carey Station Road, Greensboro, GA, 30642 with Rev. Merry Grayson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the First United Methodist Church South Campus. Everyone is invited to a luncheon at the church following the service. The family requests that any memorials be made in memory of Viola to the First United Methodist Church Music Department, P. O. Box 216, Greensboro, GA, 30642.
