Richard F. Bolinger, age 90, peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

He is survived by daughter, Pamela J. Kennoy of Michigan City; sons, Richard (Jolene) Bolinger Jr. of Crown Point, Michael G. (Linda) Bolinger of Toledo, OH and Michael L. Dillon of Burns Harbor with whom he made his home with; grandchildren, Tonya (Steve) Hiscox of Chesterton, Beth Purdy of Michigan City, Amy (Joseph) Beyer of Plainfield, IN, Kristen (Scott) Radwan of Munster, Rebekah (Kevin) Matokar of Dyer, Jason Bolinger of Toledo, OH, Darren (Kristina) Bolinger of Lansing, MI and Kimberly Bolinger of Toledo, OH; great grandchildren, Alexander, Logan, Branden, Trae. Samantha and Calvin; great great grandchild, Lillian and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; parents, George and Catherine; brothers, Paul, George and Robert Bolinger.

Richard was born December 2, 1921 in Gary and graduated from Emerson High School where he was a star athlete and met and married his high school sweetheart. He proudly served our country as a Ranger in the US Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 260 and a charter member of the Burns Harbor Lions Club. Dick was one of the founding fathers of the town of Burns Harbor. He retired as a plumber.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and will be sadly missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 10:00 AM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel 7535 Taft Street Merrillville, IN with Rev. Erik Bernth officiating.

Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 2:00-6:00 PM at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Augsburg Evangelical Lutheran Church 100 N. Mineral Springs Road Porter, IN 46304 where Dick was a longtime member.
