Lorraine E. Darling, age 66 of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Michigan City.

She was born August 4, 1945 in St. Augustine, Florida, to Francis and Frances (Presscott) Dutcher, who preceded her in death.

Lorraine was married on May 4, 1963 in Porter, Ind. to Russell O. Darling, who survives of Michigan City, Ind.

Lorraine is also survived by her sons, Danny (Linda) Darling and John Darling; daughters, Deborah Darling and Denice (Charles) Diab, all of Michigan City; brothers, Richard (Sharon) Dutcher of LaPorte, Kenneth Dutcher of Chesterton and Frank (Wanda) Dutcher of Valparaiso; sister in law, Marvelina Dutcher of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Nathan Darling, Kammie Darling, Charles Thomas Diab, Cecalie Diab, Camile Diab, Cassandra Diab, Cash Diab and Joshua Wayne Darling; great-granddaughter, Janelle Elizabeth Darling; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Dutcher and Gary Dutcher; sister, Virginia Cortez; and grandson, Joshua Dakota Darling.

Lorraine was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a Laborer for Poloron and Blocksom & Co. and was also a homemaker. Lorraine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing and she loved everyone.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 402 Coolspring Ave., Michigan City, Ind., with President Trevin Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
