Linda Kathleen Hunter dies at age 71

Linda Kathleen Hunter, 71, of Wilmington, No. Carolina, and formerly of Chesterton, Ind., died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington.

She was born in Gary, Ind., April 21, 1941, daughter of Gerald Nash and Irvingtina Tupper Nash.

Surviving, in addition to her husband Jimmie Hunter, is a daughter, Lori Hunter Evans and husband Donald and children, Lauren and Hunter Evans all of Greensboro, No. Carolina, daughter, Carol-Lyn Hunter Kollar and husband Robert and children, Andie Kollar, Amanda Kollar, and Hannah Kollar all of Chesterton; a son, Gregory Hunter and wife Stephanie and their son Jamison Hunter all of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a sister, Alice Lewis of Nobelsville, Ind.

Linda was a loving wife, a steadfast mother, and a doting grandmother. She served in the United States Army in the early 1960’s, and left the service in order to start a family. She was married to her life-long sweetheart, Jimmie Hunter, for fifty-two years.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, with Hospice Chaplain Joe Jankowiak officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401.
