Wilbur E. Ritchie, age 76 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso.

He was born on December 4, 1934 in East Chicago to Victor and Zelma (Hardesty) Ritchie.

On March 15, 1959 Wilbur married Dorothy Kuschel who preceded him in death on August 21, 2011.

He is survived by four children: Larry Ritchie of Ft. Worth, Texas, Robin Bennett of Indianapolis, Suzanne (Tom) Lawson of Chesterton and James (Catherine) Ritchie of Fresno, California; four grandchildren: Sam Bennett, Jessica and Chloe Lawson and Finn Ritchie; a sister, Arlene Darchuck of Florida; two brothers, Fred (Imogene) Ritchie of Munster and Tony (Nancy) Razzini of Florida; his uncle, Hubert Ritchie and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Victor and Kenneth Ritchie.

Wilbur was a career truck driver and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He attended Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church, South Haven and was a member of the South Haven American Legion. Wilbur was a beloved father and papa and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with Rev. Craig Forwalter officiating. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the VNA Hospice, 2401 Valley Dr., Valparaiso, Ind., 46383.
