Former Chesterton resident Virginia Florence Cox died Friday, March 19,
2010, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. A resident of Portsmouth, Ohio, she
was 74.
She was born Sept.. 25, 1935, in Portsmouth, the daughter of Ralph W. and
Dulcenia (Green) Miller.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Fred) Schlundt of Eustis, Fla.,
and Lori Cox of Valparaiso; a son, David Cox of Chesterton; four
grandchildren, Jessica Cox and Christopher Cox of Valparaiso, Tia Bash of
Wilmington, Mass., and Tim Cox of Chesterton; a sister, Carolyn Clark of
Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther M. Day.
Virginia was a member of Central Church of Christ, and Portsmouth Chapter
No. 424 Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral services, minister Dennis Dawes officiating, are scheduled for 1
p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before the
service on Tuesday.
An Eastern Star service is scheduled for 8 p.m. today.
