Service set for Dolores White

Dolores Jean White of Valparaiso passed away Friday, June 18, 2010. She was 81.

She was born April 22, 1929 in Porter, the daughter of Orval & Irene (Sievert) Swoverland. On August 7, 1948 in Chesterton she married Robert R. White, who survives.

Also surviving are children Randall (wife Jennifer) White of Wetmore, Mich., Jeffrey White of Valparaiso, Cynthia (husband Terry) Weideman of Valparaiso, Nanette White of Manistique, Mich., and Amy White of Porter; siblings Beverly Krewett of Chesterton, Don (Eva Lou) Swoverland of Valparaiso, and Lila (Carl) Hallberg of Chesterton; grandchildren Raechel, Randy, Troy, Cassie, Matt, Candice, Austin, Dustin, Ashley and Andrew; and three great grandsons Loki, Odin and Brett-Dorian.

Dolores graduated from Chesterton High School in 1947. She had co-owned the Valparaiso Hot Dog Stand downtown, attended Faith Evangelical Bible Church and rarely missed her monthly Chesterton Class of 1947 lunches. She was an unassuming and dedicated wife and mother who will be sadly missed.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Bible Church, 305 E. 400 N., Valparaiso, with Pastor Rod Huber officiating. Burial will be at Angelcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso.
