Robert P. (Bob) Hoyt dies at 55

Robert P. (Bob) Hoyt, 55, of Valparaiso, died Saturday, April 25 at his home.

Bob was born September 12, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Richard and Kathryn (Hughes) Hoyt.

On Nov. 27, 1976 in DeMotte, he married Luann Jonkman who survives.

He is also survived by their sons, Nathan of Valparaiso, and Nicholas of Baltimore, Md.

Bob graduated from the University of Maryland in 1975 with a degree in physical therapy. He was the former owner of Associated Rehab Services and was currently employed by Incremedical in Valparaiso as a physical therapist with 34 years of experience. He truly enjoyed music, fantasy baseball and any and all sporting activities. An area resident since 1975 he was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Valparaiso.

Funeral services Rev. David Byrum, officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 at First United Methodist Church, 103 Franklin St. Valparaiso. Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage, with interment of ashes at Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Friends may call on the family immediately following the service until 8 p.m. at the church, all on Tuesday April 28.

Family prefers donations to VNA Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
