Janice Massa dies at 64

Janice L. Massa ( nee Wheat ), of Valparaiso, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2008. She was 64.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Maurice Massa and three sons, Craig (Karen) Massa of Suwanee, Ga., Matt (Deanna) Massa of Naperville, Ill. and Marc (Amy) Massa of Pottstown, Pa., and her six grandchildren, Colin, Haley, Sydney, Natalie, Evan and Nicholas; a brother, Jerrold (Diane) Wheat of Chesterton, and many loving relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Mary Wheat.

Janice was a devoted wife and mother. She graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Class of 1962. She was a resident of Valparaiso for more than 35 years. She was an avid gardener and golfer and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s sports and activities.

Funeral service, Deacon Bob Bonta officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point. Services will terminate at the funeral home with cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory.

Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (time of service).

Contributions may be made to the William Riley Residence Hospice in Munster.
