William E. King dies at 77

William E. King, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007 at VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was 77.

He was born July 22, 1929 in Paxton, Ill. the son of Harry and Effie (Camp) King, both of whom preceded him in death.

On May 21, 1955 he married Dolores Rak, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by two sons, Larry (Jane) King of Valparaiso, Garry King (Kathleen Mitchell) of Miller; a sister, Shirley Huber of Henderson, Nev.; a niece, Gwen (Kenny) Genovese, their daughter, Kendy Genovese; a nephew, Dwaine (Jane) Holmgren, their children Derek, Danen and Cara Holmgren and a brother-in-law, Marvin (Lenore) Binkowski.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Holmgren and Betty Wright and a brother-in-law, Owen (Swede) Holmgren.

Bill was an avid fisherman and a veteran of the Korean War having served in 1951-1952, where he was a Howitzer gunner operator.

A funeral service, Rev. Thelma Megill-Cobbler, S.T.S. officiating, will be at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 30 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory, Portage.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at White-Love Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the VNA Hospice Center, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
