Stanley H. Wozniak dies at 85

Stanley H. Wozniak, of Chesterton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City. He was 85.

He was born Oct. 15, 1921 in Pine Twp. the son of Thomas and Anna (Zaucha) Wozniak, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Feb. 14, 1958, he married Leona Schroeder, who preceded him in death Jan. 26, 1962. He married Martha Batz Nov. 28,, 1968 and she preceded him in death Feb. 24, 2003.

He is survived by two step-sons, Jack (Catherine) Batz, of Burns Harbor and James (Eilene) Batz of Phoenix, Ariz.; a step daughter, Maureen Lulinski of Michigan City; numerous grandchildren; a step-son-in-law, Calvin Cheesebrough of Niles, Mich.; a sister, Virginia Wozniak of Michigan City; two brothers, Chester Wozniak and Clem Wozniak, both of Michigan City; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Wozniak and Lorraine Wozniak, both of Michigan City many nieces and nephews in Michigan City.

Stanley was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Christine Cheesebrough in 2001; two sisters, Mary and Vernie and seven brothers, Florian, Alex, Barney, Marion, Louis, Vincent and Edwin.

Stanley was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton. He worked at Pullman Standard Co. in Michigan City for many years.

Funeral services, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Swan Lake memorial Gardens, Michigan City.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at White-Love Funeral Home.
