John Pisowicz, Jr., of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 at
his residence. He was 69.
He was born June 21, 1937 in East Chicago, Ind., the son of John Stanley and
Emily Marie (Pietrucha) Pisowicz, both of whom preceded him in death.
On July 8, 1961 at St. Patrick Church in Chesterton, he married Helen
Miller, who survives in Union Mills.
He is also survived by Matthew Pisowicz, Mark (Andrea) Pisowicz and Anthony
(Cassie) Pisowicz, all of Union Mills; two daughters, Joy (Andrew) Raber of
Nappanee and Catherine (Chris) Sims of LaPorte; a sister, Shirley (Jerry)
Brewer of Water Valley, Texas; two brothers, Donald (Karen) Pisowicz of
Porter and Gerald (Evelyn) Pisowicz of Chesterton and 11 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Pisowicz.
John was a station operator for NIPSCO from 1959 to 1992. He was a member of
St. Mary Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. John loved
the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Father Gerald Schweitzer officiating, will be at
11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at St. Mary Church, 101 N. Church St., Otis, Ind.
Cremation will follow services at Heritage Crematory Portage.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with Rosary at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5 at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
