Infant, Brooklynn N. Smaluk dies

Brooklynn N. Smaluk, of LaPorte, passed away, Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at her home. She was two months old.

She was born Oct. 15, 2006 in Valparaiso, the daughter of William Jake and Tabatha A. (Blank) Smaluk of LaPorte, both of whom survive.

She is survived by paternal grandparents, Billy and Carrie Gibson of Morrisville, Ind. and Allison (Denis) Duffy of Chicago; maternal grandparents, Diana and Joe Polito of Chesterton and Ken and Brenda Blank of Bowling Green, Ky.; Maternal great-grandparents, Lois Polito of Chesterton and William Blystone of Portage; sisters, Tara Joe Smaluk and Elizabeth Rose Smaluk, both at home; uncles, Luke Smaluk of LaPorte, Kenny (Hollie) Blank of Burns Harbor; aunts, Trina (Don) Blank of Valparaiso, Tiffany (Keith) Farrington of Burns Harbor and Katie and Kallie Smaluk of Chicago and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Virginia Blank, great-grandmother, Rose Ellison and great-grandfather, Don Gootee.

A graveside service, Rev. Fredrick Hoover officiating, was at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 at Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Arrangements were under the direction of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
