Earle Eugene Peters, Jr. of Chesterton, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at his residence. He was 65.

He was born March 23, 1941 in East Chicago, Ind., the son of Earle and Eleanor (Nisula) Peters, both of whom preceded him in death.

On March 16, 1985 in Evansville, he married Lynn R. Schnarr, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by three children from a previous marriage; step-sons, Steven Shivalec of Chesterton and David Shivalec of Chesterton; grandchildren, Nicholas and Macy Shivalec.

Earle was employed as a millwright (boiler house) at Midwest Steel for 34 years before retiring in 1999. He also was a farmer for 25 years. He was a graduate of Jackson Twp. High School, class of 1959.

Funeral services, Rev. Larry Starett officiating, will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 14 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
