The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 430 new cases of
COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (244 new cases on Monday), to bring total
cases so far to 38,033, up from 37,623 on Monday, an increase of 1.1
percent.
ISDH was also
reporting 23 additional deaths over the last 24 hours (14 additional deaths
on Monday), to bring the total so far to 2,339, up from 2,316, an increase
of 1.0 percent.
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 4,611 cases and 1,011 deaths (unchanged from Monday).
Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of
COVID-19: 250. Number of nursing homes in the state with at least one
COVID-19 death: 155.
315,390 tests have
been reported to date to ISDH, up from 309,503, an increase of 2 percent
over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 12.1 percent. Tests are
being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and
private laboratories.
Tests in Porter
County: 5,825 (5,771 on Monday). In Lake County: 27,690 (27,362). In LaPorte
County: 4,917 (4,875).
If positive rates
are an indication of the extent of COVID-19 testing in a county, then Porter
County's 9.9 percent positive rate compares favorably to Lake's (14.5
percent) and the state's (12.1 percent) but is higher than LaPorte's (9.4
percent)
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 10,444 (10,358); and the most deaths, 630 (623).
Lake County has reported 4,005 cases (3,959) and 217 deaths (215), the
second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported
462 cases and 24 deaths (460 and 24).
The total COVID-19
death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date.
Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms
all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total
of 181 presumptive deaths was reported today, unchanged from Monday.
