Schools report two new COVID cases

The Duneland School Corporation (DSC) reported two new cases of COVID-19 among students on Tuesday. Both cases were at Chesterton High School (no close contacts), DSC said.

 Active cases totaled 33 as of Tuesday (35 on Monday):

-- CHS: 13 (11 on Monday).

-- Remote students: two (three).

-- Liberty Intermediate: three (three).

-- Yost: one (one).

-- CMS: one (two).

-- Liberty Elementary: two (two).

-- WIS: seven (seven).

-- Jackson: none (none).

-- Bailly: two (two).

-- Brummitt: none (one)

-- Other: two (three).

Since classes began in August, DSC has reported a total of 214 COVID-19 infections among students and staff (212 on Monday).

DSC is urging parents to continue to report their children’s positive test results to the administration.
