The Westchester
Neighbors Food Pantry served 97 families; 246 individuals this past Tuesday.
Everyone received food, toiletries and paper products.
The pantry will
continue to distribute bi-weekly using the drive-thru process. The next date
is April 7.
As the COVID-19
pandemic continues, the need for food and toiletry items will increase. The
pantry serves residents of Westchester, Liberty, Jackson and parts of Pine
Townships included in the Duneland Schools district.
Anyone wishing to
donate non-perishable food items or paper products, especially canned fruit
and breakfast items, may drop off items at one of two sites. Both the
Chesterton police station lobby and Porter Bank lobby are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
weekdays, and 9 a.m.-12 noon on Saturdays.
A heartfelt thank
you to those who have recently donated and all of our supportive donors over
the years.
