Indiana Dunes
National Park has closed all facilities and buildings, including restrooms,
until further notice, citing the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Park
Service announced after deadline on Tuesday. In addition, all public and
school programs at the park have been canceled.
Outdoor spaces,
including park’s trails, beaches, and parking lots, do remain open to the
public.
During this
difficult time, the National Park Service asks the public to help care for
the national park by keeping it clean and reporting violations to (800)
Park-Tip.
“While outdoor
spaces, like park trails, are believed to be safer than indoor spaces,
visitors are urged to take the precautions recommended by the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention,” NPS added.
