Voice of the People

It seems that many people in favor of the Illiana Tollroad have not done their homework and actually read Senate Bill 1. These people seem to think that SB 1 will do nothing more than allow for a study of the Illiana Tollroad. This is simply NOT the case. SB 1 gives Governor Daniels complete authority to enter into contracts with a private entity that will build and manage the Illiana. The bill says NOTHING about a study.

Or perhaps these same people actually have done their homework. Maybe they realize that we indeed live in America, and that people here should not have their land taken away via eminent domain except as a last resort – especially for the profit of a private (and likely foreign) company. Perhaps they realize that a study SHOULD be completed before we are even considering bidding out the job. And perhaps they want the public to believe that is what’s happening when it really isn’t.
