Voice of the People

After much personal consideration and deliberation, I have decided not to seek re-election for a 14th term in the Indiana House of Representatives. As state representative for House District 4, I would like to thank you for the distinct honor and privilege you have given me to work on behalf of all the residents of my district.

I have always believed and advocated consensus in the legislative process, even when the legislative issue is volatile in nature. Over the course of my service in the legislature, it has been my privilege to author and co-author more than 100 initiatives that have been signed into law, most of these being initiatives that originated from the residents of my district.

As always, I want to assure you that my staff and I will be working with you on any and all matters of concern until the completion of my term. Helping constituents and local officials solve problems with state government has been a top priority for me and my staff over the years. I have enjoyed the challenge relating to each problem, and the satisfaction of being able to help.

During the next few months, I will be serving on a number of study commissions and committees addressing a wide range of legislative topics. If you would like to attend or would want a schedule of these meetings, please contact my office.

Even though I will be considering opportunities outside of elected legislative office, I want to assure you that I will continue to be an advocate for quality of life issues; including education, economic development, job creation, curtailing the cost of government, tax reform, protecting working families, and helping the disabled.

Again, thank you for the honor of serving as your state representative.

Sincerely,

Ralph D. Ayres

State Representative

District Four
