Voice of the People

I mean no disrespect to our local lawmakers but I would like to know to whom you have spoken with about the funding of the extension of the South Shore Line in the Duneland Community? Being a resident of Chesterton, I certainly don’t want to pay extra for the extension to Valparaiso and Lowell, as there are so many needs that our town has for which we don't have funds.

Perhaps a bus service from the respective communities to the South Shore Line with them paying their own way would be in order.

I say bring it to a vote to the surrounding communities that will have to fund this. It is also my understanding that a portion of our county tax goes to fund the RDA already. Why do we have to pay double? Just asking.
