Reminders from Town of Porter Public Works Department

Back To Front Page

The Porter Public Works Department will host a roadway clean-up event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 14.

Anyone wishing to volunteer should contact Public Works at (219) 926-4212. Public works supervisor Brenda Brueckheimer said if residents can’t make it that day, she will work with anyone who wants to help another day. She reports her department has filled 50 garbage bags of trash already, and a lot is still out there.

Brueckheimer also reminded residents that brush pick up for small bundles of trimmings is included in the Town’s trash contract. Residents must bundle trimmings into a pack no more than four feet by four feet and put it out with their trash. Residents must arrange removal of larger debris, like trees or stumps, or take it to one of two public yard waste facilities in Valparaiso or Portage.
