The Indiana
Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on this
Thursday at 6 p.m. to offer all interested persons an opportunity to view
and comment on the current design plans for a proposed US 20 intersection
improvement at Waverly Road, located within the Town of Porter.
The public hearing
will take place at Porter Town Hall, 303 Franklin St.
According to the
notice from INDOT, the project involves the construction of left turn lanes
for eastbound and westbound U.S. 20 along with traffic signal modernization.
As a result of the project, 0.691acre of new permanent right of way is
anticipated to be acquired by INDOT. Traffic will be maintained during
construction with short term closures of Waverly Road, INDOT said.
