The Porter Plan Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Town Hall, 303 Franklin Street.

The Planners will hold a public hearing on the proposed rezoning of the old waterpark property on U.S. 20 from B-3, general business, to R-4, multi-family residential. The proposed rezone is the first step in forming a planned unit development (PUD) for the site for it to be the future home of a luxury apartment complex on par with Lakes of Valparaiso. Wiess Entities, the same company that developed Lakes of Valparaiso, has proposed detailed plans for the complex.

In other business, the Planners will also consider site plan approval for St. Cloud, Minn.-based Anderson Trucking to build a secure truck maintenance and driver training facility on U.S. 20 immediately east of Shelton Fireworks and conduct a preliminary hearing to rezone that property from B-3 general business to I-1, light industrial to allow light maintenance on the trucks.

The Board will also discuss old business including use variances.

The public is welcome to attend with its questions and comments.
