Fireworks plea: Have fun but be a good neighbor

Back To Front Page

Porter Town Council member Greg Stinson made his annual reminder that Porter residents think of their neighbors before they set off fireworks to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Stinson urged residents to notify their neighbors ahead of time if they plan to celebrate using fireworks (or anything else with flashing lights and loud noises).

“Please notify your neighbors ahead of time, as a courtesy to people with young children, the elderly, pets, small animals, our veterans, and others who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder,” Stinson said. “Nobody’s saying not to have fun or not to do fireworks, but just be a good neighbor.”

“And clean up after yourselves,” Council member Brian Finley added.
