FAA wants public input on effect of WBEW tower height on local airspace

Back to Front Page

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting an aeronautical study of the proposed WBEW radio tower in Porter.

That tower, slated to be 600 feet in height, would exceed the federal aviation obstruction standard of 500 feet by 100 feet.

Interested persons are invited to participate in the aeronautical study by submitting comments to the FAA at Federal Aviation Administration, Air Traffic Airspace Branch, ASW-520, 2601 Meacham Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76137-0520.

To be eligible for consideration, comments must be relevant to the effect the structure would have on aviation, must provide sufficient detail to permit a clear understanding, must contain the aeronautical study number (2008-AGL-2272-OE), and must be received on or before June 12, 2008.

The aeronautical study will consider all facts relevant to the effect of the structure on existing and planned airspace use, air navigation facilities, airports, aircraft operations, procedures and minimum flight standards, and the air traffic control system.

For more information contact the FAA at (770) 909-4370.
