The Town of Chesterton needs you, to serve on a municipal board.

At the Town Council’s meeting Monday night, Clerk-Treasurer Stephanie Kuziela released a list of the board seats whose terms will expire on Dec. 31.

The deadline by which to apply for open board seats is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Submit a letter of interest to the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, located at the municipal complex at 1490 Broadway.

As always, incumbents who wish to re-apply for their current seats must submit a formal letter of application. “If we don’t receive a letter (from incumbents), we’ll assume they’re vacating their appointment,” said President Jim Ton, R-1st.

For the purpose of a board appointment, a person’s political affiliation is determined by the ballot pulled in the last two primary elections in which he or she voted.

* Advisory Plan Commission: one seat, presidential appointment. May be a Republican, Democrat, or Independent.
