Police warn do NOT post signs in right-of-way

Back To Front Page

Chesterton Police Chief Dave Cincoski and Interim Building Commissioner Mike Orlich are reminding folks that the posting of signs of any kind on utility poles, trees in public rights-of-way, and street signs is a violation of Town Code. Several people will soon be getting their own personal reminder from Cincoski, in the form of a violation letter, after he spent a portion of Monday morning removing illegally posted garage-sale signs.

Cincoski reported to the Town Council at its meeting Monday night that this is likely to be the only warning he or Orlich issues.
