The Chesterton Plan Commission voted 6-0 Thursday in favor of approving the primary plat of the combined parcel for the $20 million Residents at Coffee Creek Development south of Sidewalk Rd., north of Village Rd. and east of Ind. 49.

Architect and developer Tom Panzica said the intention is to consolidate five parcels to get them on one single tax number. They are also working with the Town now to take care of the sewer needs.

The plans for a planned unit development will go to the Town Council for approval, having favorable recommendation from the Commission last week by a 4-2 vote.

Continuance for Sand Creek Lots

Meanwhile, the public hearing for the petition by the Villages of Sand Creek Owners Association to amend the PUD for seven lots in Phases 4 and 5 has been pushed back to next meeting.

Attorney Terry Hiestand said the continuance is requested for the residents to have a public meeting to address more issues before the public hearing by the Commission takes place.

The petition regards the stop-work order on the lots. The Town issued the order years ago since developer Don Meyer Construction has not put in the required features.

The stop-work order has prevented the Association from collecting dues on the lots.
