Mills Pond plan dead, Fleming says

Robert Rossman of Crown Point is a principal in I-80 Partners, LLC that has proposed the Coffee Creek Crossing retail / commercial development.

In March, 2007 he was identified as a developer working with an Indianapolis-based realty group on Mills Pond, at that time described as a 333,795 square-foot outdoor retail mall at the southeast corner of County Road 1100N and State Road 49 in Chesterton.

The Plan Commission heard very preliminary plans only at that time and took no action.

The site is where GK Development previously had a controversial mall, to be anchored by Target and Kohls, rejected by Chesterton officials.

Thursday, attorney Cliff Fleming, who represents Rossman on the pending Coffee Creek Crossing project, said Mills Pond is dead and won’t be pursued by Rossman.
