The Chesterton
Police and Street departments have gone Dutch on the purchase of two mobile
speed trailers.
And as Police Chief
Dave Cincoski reported at the Town Council’s meeting Monday night, motorists
can expect to see them at a variety of locations around Chesterton,
especially during the first week or so of school, which begins on Wednesday.
The trailers have a
variety of options, Cincoski said, one of which is this: motorists who drive
10 miles per hour over the speed limit will activate blush and red flashing
lights on the trailers.
The trailers were
purchased with CEDIT funds, Cincoski added.
Member Emerson
DeLaney, R-5th, took a moment at the end of the meeting to urge motorists to
use particular care while driving over the next few weeks, as the young
ones--especially those who are new to school--take to the streets. “Please
be mindful of your driving habits,” he said.
