Council to get update on proposed ambulance service

Back To Front Page

The Chesterton Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the town hall.

At that meeting, members will hear a presentation from the Fire Department on the status of its proposal to establish advanced life support municipal ambulance service. Initially the CFD had tentative plans to have that service up and running by April 1 of this year, but the complexity of getting it started has forced the CFD to push the date back.

In other business, the council is scheduled to discuss the vacancy on the Stormwater Management Board opened by re-location out of town of former member Christine Livingston.

Meanwhile, the council will hold a public hearing on the petition of Dale and Caroline Kaiser and Mark Moldenhauer for the vacation of an unimproved right-of-way in the 300 block of South 19th Street.

Members will also hear updates on the Ind. 49 utility corridor project and the Thomas Centennial Park restroom project.
