operating in the Town of Chesterton have until Jan. 31, 2017, to submit
their registration form to the Chesterton Clerk-Treasurerís Office.
All businesses have
received, or soon will, a letter from Clerk-Treasurer Stephanie Kuziela
reminding them to complete their registration form. That form--available on
for a variety of information related to the business, most of it to be used
by the Police or Fire departments in case of emergency: owner and keyholder
contact information; type of alarm system and location; location of
sprinkler controls; location of lock box containing information on possible
hazardous materials; location of electric panels; and location of utility
If a business has
previously submitted a form, then itís required only to complete the front
side of the document. If, on the other hand, the business is new this year
and there is no form for it already on file, the business must complete both
ďAny form turned in
that is not in compliance will be returned,Ē Kuziela said.
On completing and
submitting the form, by Jan. 31, the business will receive a sticker to
place in the shop window and a certificate of registration.
