Chesterton Town Council to discuss town manager salary Monday
How will the Town of Chesterton pay for a town manager, should the Town
Council opt to advertise the position?
The council will try to find an answer to that pressing question at a special
meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the town hall.
Members have already reserved the salary of former Town Economic Development
Coordinator Dwayne Williams—approximately $45,000 in CEDIT funds—but given a
proposed range of $50,000 to $80,000 for a town manager could need to find as
much as $35,000 in additional moneys.
That special meeting will precede the council’s regularly scheduled meeting
at 7 p.m. An agenda for that meeting lists no new or old business of note.
The public is welcome to attend with its questions and comments.
