Back To Front Page

The Burns Harbor Town Council will revisit whether the Police Department should be allowed to use Tasers when the council meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the town hall.

New business includes a request for funding from the Redevelopment Commission to have a consultant prepare a financing impact analysis for possible designation of The Traditions apartment complex as a TIF district. Also on the agenda is setting a date for Trick-or-Treat and announcing names are being taken for those wishing to serve on town boards and commissions in 2014.

Loreli Weimer, executive director of Indiana Dunes Tourism, will give a presentation on how regional tourism agencies partner to bring visitors here.

Other topics to be addressed are adoption of the 2014 budget, a Fire Department transfer, the American Tower lease extension, flooring quotes for town hall water damage, Cas Perezís project to paint bus stop shelters, and use of the former Westport Community Club property, which the town now owns.

Department heads will report and the public may comment on other matters at the meetingís conclusion.
